ReEnergise launches its energy broking service
Quick links
We are delighted to announce that we have teamed up with the buying team from a previously highly successful energy brokerage to launch another new ReEnergise service – energy broking.
This joint venture is a natural extension of the ReEnergise services: it means that we are now a genuine one-stop shop for all a school’s energy-related needs.

We think of a school’s energy needs and usage as being interrelated, like the Venn diagram below.
Our intent is that schools will be able to move seamlessly around with our continuous support to target the area of greatest need at any given time throughout the school year.
We are already well known for our expertise, impartial advice and guidance in energy-related engineering on school estates – this is how you Use Well and Generate Well when it comes to energy.
Our support was recently described as ‘transformative’ by one client, and we are incredibly proud of the relationships we’ve built through our committed service.
We are now committed to bringing the same innovation and dedication to energy broking.
Buy energy well, with ReEnergise
By buying energy through us, schools will harness a range of benefits:
Reduced Operating Costs
Using our buying power and adhering to the principle of open competition amongst suppliers, we will enable schools to reduce the amount they have to pay for electricity and gas compared with the prevailing market conditions and rates:
- Our buying team can trade with every significant supplier in the market: they have all the required connections, due to the long buying history of key members of the team.
- Unlike most buying teams, they will also allow all suppliers to bid in tenders, rather than favouring those suppliers offering the most commission to their brokers.
Transparency
We are already known for providing frank, forthright advice about energy efficiency and engineering: we will bring the same approach to energy procurement.
- We will operate to a fixed commission, regardless of supplier, meaning that we will have no incentive to favour one supplier over another.
- We will operate open book in terms of all supplier costs, our fees, and all supply contracts.
- We will work to expose procurement loopholes & vulnerabilities, supplier bad practice, and miss-selling by suppliers and brokers.
- We will demystify the energy market and give our clients confidence that they are buying their energy wisely.
Account Management Support
It’s not enough to find the right contract: schools need to manage their energy supply accounts, and we all know these accounts can be a maze. We will offer support and advice with this taxing task.
Green Energy at No Extra Cost
We will enable schools to buy renewably sourced power at no additional cost compared to power derived from burning fossil fuels. Buying green energy is a logical part of the energy strategy for any school intent on getting to net-zero, but ultimately it’s the cost that matters. Buying with ReEnergise removes that dilemma.
Getting started
As you know, it’s always best to think ahead. We recommend starting this process at least three months before your contract ends.
Firstly, we will meet with you to discuss your energy contracts and procurement strategy.
Then you will need to sign a Letter of Authority (LOA), giving us the authority to negotiate with suppliers on your behalf. We will not ask you for the authority to commit unwittingly to a given contract.
We then get to work of finding you the best deal:
- We work with you to gather all the required energy usage data.
- We run a complete check of the data, to ensure it is as accurate as it can be: we already know from our engineering work that this can be challenging for schools and it’s wise to have the details checked by a 3rd party.
- We tender for the best rates for the recommended contract durations, looking across the entire supplier base.
- We then present you with a clear, concise and transparent tender report, with our experienced buying team’s recommendations.
- We organise the required supply contracts between you and the selected supplier.
- We then monitor the delivery of the supply, acting as your first port of call for support, advice and trouble-shooting.
